"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
At the heart of this expressive painting are luminous yellow tulips, portrayed with bold, thick strokes of yellow and white paint that suggest the tender yet vibrant petals of the flowers. These dynamic strokes capture the natural variances in the petals' hues and textures, giving the tulips a vivid, almost tactile presence. Surrounding the tulips is a richly painted background of cerulean and azure, swirling dynamically around the flowers, evoking the sense of a lively, moving sky or water, contrasting with the brightness of the tulips. The leaves of the tulips, rendered in deep shades of green with highlights of yellow and dark lines, seem to undulate and swirl, grounding the flowers in their natural setting. The palpable texture and energetic colors of the artwork convey a fresh, spring-like atmosphere that celebrates the beauty and resilience of tulips.
