Artwork in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting features a grid-like arrangement of circles against a soft lavender background. Each circle is sectioned into parts painted in bright shades of pink and luminous green, creating a vivid contrast. Some circles are whole while others appear as if they are sliding apart into semi-circles and segments, conveying motion. This dynamic arrangement and the bold color usage give the artwork a vibrant, almost kinetic energy. The use of shadows and highlights on and around the circles adds a sense of three-dimensionality, making the shapes seem as if they're floating above or sinking into the canvas. The overall effect is playful and visually stimulating.
