Artwork in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
The painting is composed of a dynamic arrangement of textured strokes and layers of paint, primarily in hues of green, blue, and gold. Thickly applied paint creates a tactile surface, animated by vigorous, expressive brushwork. Gold lines, resembling a grid or fragmented geometric shapes, intersect across the canvas, segmenting the composition into various abstract forms. The vivid texture suggests a sense of movement, as if the colors are swirling or in flux. Splashes of bright blue and subtle hints of earthy browns complement the dominant greens and yellows, enhancing the overall visual complexity of the piece.
