Eglė Degutis is a painter based in Klaipėda. In 2015, she graduated from the Painting program at the Faculty of Arts of Klaipėda University, and since 2024 she has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association. The artist actively participates in solo and group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.

Her work balances between minimalist abstraction and minimalist expressionism. Her paintings emphasize the tension of color, light, and surface, as well as subtle rhythms of lines and optical texture effects. At first glance, the surfaces of the works appear relief-like, yet in reality they remain almost completely smooth – exploring the relationship between materiality, appearance, and sensory experience. Her artistic practice is closely connected to the aesthetics of wabi-sabi, with its sense of silence, emptiness, and impermanence.

In the “Fata Morgana” series, landscape motifs are transformed into atmospheric spaces balancing between abstraction and the horizon. Through minimalist color palettes and sensitive tonal transitions, existential themes emerge – impermanence, fragility, change, and inner states. Here, the landscape becomes not a specific place, but an intuition, a memory of light, or a receding vision.
